Meet Our Team
Paula and Dr. Kretschmar are a polished synchronized team. Intricate dental procedures seem effortless with this team’s precision and expertise.
She came to Custer from Wisconsin, where Paula had 10 years of prior dental experience and had accomplished her national certification in dental assisting. Her commitment to her profession, her ability to teach/train, and her daily performance make her skills invaluable to this practice and the patients receiving care.
Paula and her husband, Dean, have two sons. They enjoy gardening, fishing and being outdoors.
Iris is another long term employee at Destination Dentistry. After a three year hiatus from dental assisting she has returned to the field of Dentistry. Iris often comments, “Linda Custis always makes sure that I don’t stay away too long”! We are so proud of her because she expanded her dental assisting credentials by graduating from Western Dakota Tech’s Dental Assisting Program. Nineteen years “in the business”, and there is still so much to learn. After her short sabbatical, Iris marvels at the fact that “dentistry just continues to improve and advance in every aspect of care delivery and technology”. All of Destination Dentistry’s staff appreciates the fact that professional growth never stops. As you might guess, we believe our patients deserve the BEST that dentistry has to offer.
Iris and her husband Ski are blessed and have seven grown children, with the added gift of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her faith and church involvement are a guiding light to all they know. Iris has made her home in the Black Hills of South Dakota for the last 25 years, but looks forward to yearly trips back to Montana to see her family.
Melony has lived in Custer for 9 years. She moved here from Rapid City to be closer to her family.
Melony spent the last 20-years in the retail industry prior to making Destination Dentistry her “home” as a practice administrator. With her management knowledge, she has contributed greatly to the practice. Her ability to motivate others is a gift.
Outside of the office, Melony loves the outdoors whether it is fishing, camping, or hiking and loves spending time with her family.

She joined our hygiene department as a hygiene assistant. She recently graduated from the dental assisting course at WDT.
Brittnay is outgoing and always willing to learn new things. With her outgoing personality, she loves meeting everyone who walks into the office and greets them with a cheery smile. Brittnay spends most of her time riding horses and loves spending time with family and friends.
Amanda is a Registered Dental Hygienist in our office. Born and raised in Georgia, she moved here to Custer in July 2014. Finding state-of-the-art practice in a small town atmosphere was enough to encourage the move across the country. “I count myself lucky to work with other dental professionals who genuinely care about their patients’ dental needs and care for them as people.”
Amanda worked as a pediatric hygienist for 5- years prior to moving to the Black Hills. “My favorite thing about working with kids, especially the youngsters, is making it fun.” Building a positive foundation for life-long dental care is so important for our younger generations. Amanda and her husband James had a baby boy in September 2015 and love their life as parents. In their spare time they enjoy the bountiful offerings of outdoor activities in the Black Hills- hiking, camping and exploring new unseen areas. They also enjoy riding motorcycles along many scenic highways.
I am Amanda Carlin and a South Dakota Native. I’m married to my husband John of 18 years, and we have 3 kids. John and I have raised our family in Newcastle WY, on our ranch. In 2015 we returned home to SD, our old stomping ground. With 3 children all teenagers, chasing them takes up all of my time, and there is nothing else I would rather do. My kids are active in volleyball, basketball, football, track, wrestling and High school rodeo.
My favorite thing about dentistry is serving my patient’s needs. Whether it’s dental needs, or a being a good listener and finding out what matters most to my patients. Dr. Rebecca is passionate about the whole being of the patient, not just the teeth! This is what I love most about being a team member at Destination Dentistry. I’m also very passionate about being involved in my community. I donate a lot of my time, to Booster Club, community fundraisers, and to those who are in need of a helping hand. I’m so blessed to be part of such a great team, and community.
Angie first moved with her family to Custer in 1974. After leaving and moving to Wyoming she has now decided to come back to Custer and make Destination Dentistry her home. Angie feels like working with her co-workers and Patients at Destination Dentistry is like working with family! It is the most positive place she has ever had the opportunity to work. Having the opportunity to see and spend time with her Dad everyday, who also lives in Custer is one of the best benefits of coming back to Custer.
Angie has 2 children and 3 Grandchildren all of which she cherishes. She has a hard time staying away from yard sales, second hand stores, family time, and time around the camp fire, sleep-over’s at Nana Angie’s house with her grandkids are some of her favorite past times. Angie feels that one of the worst things she ever lost was her smile, and one of the best things she got back was her smile! That is why dentistry interests her and why she is eager to learn more every day. Angie loves seeing people enjoy smiling and with her new smile she brings with her 25 years worth of secretarial and office experience to the team!
Jordyn is a registered dental hygienist in our office. Jordyn is from Hill City and recently finished his bachelors degree in Dental Hygiene at the University of South Dakota in Vermillion. Jordyn moved back up to Custer when he decided he wanted to come home to the Black Hills, and enjoy all that our area has to offer.
Jordyn likes to go four wheeling, fishing, and gaming in his spare time. Jordyn’s dad and brother live in the area and he frequently helps them collect and split wood for their fireplaces, and goes back to the Aberdeen area of the state to visit his mom and little sister as often as he can.
